Peru Surf Spots: Cerro Azul

Immortalized in "Surfing Safari" by the Beach Boys, Cerro Azul (Blue Hill) is a classic Peruvian surf locale. Located about an hour and a half south of LIma, the quaint town is a popular escape for city residents. A rocky break at the end of the beach creates reliable left-breaking waves. Plenty of local restaurants take advantage of the sea and offer fresh ceviche that's a perfect recharge before heading back out.

Cerro Azul is named for the bluish rock that lies above the town.

South of this pier is where you'll find Puerto Viejo and all of the surfing action in Cerro Azul.
